whenever iron heats up there is a burning smell. when curling hair it also takes on the pungent burning smell

I liked this iron at first but ended up having to return it. The heat increase button kept getting stuck under the plastic framing. I had to pop it out each time I tried to increase the heat.

It stopped working after a few months. Too late to return it. Threw it in the trash along with my money. Oh, well.
